Pharmacist

Find out more about pharmacists and what they can offer
With winter now setting in and coughs and colds circulating, we want to remind you what services are available from your pharmacist.
Did you know that your local pharmacist can some times give appropriate advice and treatment on health matters, including:
- Making sure you have some basic items at home means you can treat yourself if you get minor ailments like a cold or headache;
- Your pharmacist (chemist) can help you decide what you should stock and can offer good medical advice and sometimes treatment;
- If you take regular medicine, you should also make sure you get a repeat prescription before it runs out - particularly over holiday period or during the winter;
- If you need it, make sure you have had your flu jab - ask your GP for advice;
Many pharmacists are open at weekends and evenings - this may be important when your only option is to call the local GP out of hours service or visit A&E. A pharmacist can help advise if this is necessary or an easier solution is available.
Isn't it time you found out what's available at your local pharmacy?
