Single Equality Scheme 2009-2012
NHS Berkshire has launched its draft Single Equality Scheme. The Scheme sets out our commitment to taking Equality and Human Rights into account in everything we do whether its providing services, employing people, developing policies, communicating, consulting or involving people in our work.
The Single Equality Scheme is a public commitment of how we plan to meet the duties placed upon us under equality legislation and how we plan to meet the needs and wishes of local people and our staff. It sets out how NHS Berkshire recognises the differences between people, and sets out how we aim to ensure that (as far as possible) any gaps and inequalities are identified and addressed.
